Good Friday – Tenebrae Vespers

We gather together on the second day of the Triduum, Christ’s Passover.  This day has traditionally been called – “God’s Friday” – and in more recent times – “Good Friday”- because of the good gifts God has won for us on this day. This service is not a funeral for Jesus but rather serves as a time for repentance of sins and restrained joy and praise for the redemption Christ accomplished for us on the cross.

Worship on this day is unique.  The service has no beginning and no end – we enter amidst the confusion of an arrest and trial – and exit in the shadow of a used cross.
