May 14, 2022 4th and 5th grade students and parents from Our Savior Lutheran School visited three widowers to sing songs of comfort. The tour was one of five Youth Time gatherings that Pastor Tony has worked with the congregation’s children and youth ministry and school parents to organize since February. The outing was meant as outreach to our school families by involving them in our efforts to care for others.
The carolers sang uplifting Christian songs taught to them at school by the interim music teacher, Nancy Volz. They were led by vocals Christina Flahive and Heather Bleier and accompanied by Ian Johnson on his viola.
The group visited the homes of Larry Barden and Neville Morrison whose wives both died in March. The singers also sang to Brad Heine, whose wife Sandy died back in January this year. He and local members of his family received the carolers at his son Nick’s house.
Brad said after the carolers’ visit, “Absolutely wonder! A memory that we’ll all cherish.”
