Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry makes prayer shawls and lap robes for people who are sick, baby blankets for new born babies and for babies being baptized. We also make preemie hats and sometimes bigger hats for children who are critically ill.  We have given items to Manor Care Nursing Home and to Plantation General Hospital Pediatrics and Children’s Intensive Care Units.

We do not meet every week, but meet about once a month.

We have people who can teach anyone to knit or crochet.  If someone wants to work at home and bring items in, we will be happy to accept donations.  If anyone is cleaning out their closets and drawers and have knitted and crochet projects started and does not wish to finish, we will accept those too.  Also any yarn is accepted.

Sometimes we need to mail a package to someone, we do that too.

We will take donations of money to purchase yarn, pay for shipping, buy bags and tissue paper to wrap shawls, lap robes, baby blankets and hats.
