Mirror Lake Elementary School
In November of 2009, Our Savior Lutheran Church began a partnership with Mirror Lake Elementary School in Plantation. Our former pastor, Rev. Edwin Nicklas, was instrumental in developing this partnership and was extremely active at the school through mentoring and “cafeteria duty.” He ministered to the faculty and staff and encouraged our congregation to serve in the community as well. At that time we had approximately 23 people that gave their time to the school. To this day we still have a relationship with the school and devoted volunteers. (They would love more!)In May 2019, Mirror Lake staff invited Jane Nicklas to the volunteer breakfast and presented a plaque in honor of “Pastor Ed” and will dedicate their Dining Room to Pastor Ed Nicklas for countless hours of volunteer and community service at Mirror Lake Elementary. Such a special honor!
