July 23rd marks the first anniversary of my husband Ed’s passing from Alzheimer’s Disease. Our family grieves for him, but we are comforted in that his suffering is over. However, our work is not over. We need to learn more about this disease that affects and changes so many families. The Nicklas Family is inspired by our ALZ Team name that Ed chose himself – “Never Give Up Nicklas.” We are not giving up our support of Alzheimer’s research and encourage you to do the same.
This year’s walk is on November 9 at NOVA Southeastern University. Last year we collected over $9,000 because of your support. Let’s work together to match last year’s total and beyond. Our family finds hope in these words from Hebrews 12 “Let us run with perseverance the race set before us.” We know our race has not finished yet in finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Will you join us in the race?
